I have some great news! An awesome music producer in LA took a chance on me and together we wrote 2 singles! They are now up on itunes! YES!

Well, here I am! Back in LA. Things have been moving at super sonic speed ever since I've been back! This is the first chance I've had to sit back and actually do some laundry and blog! So glamorous. ;)
Life is really short, so why not live the life you imagined? Go for the American Dream. Who cares if people don't approve. You owe it to yourself!

That's what I feel, anyway. I owe this to myself. If you're like me, there's not a single day that goes by that I don't think about my dreams.

Anything is possible. Just believe in yourself and have faith! Watch this video and you'll see what I mean! This is such a wonderful and truly inspiring story of determination!! What an incredible dog. Makes me cry every time. JUST HAVE FAITH!

Life is a Picture In Motion!

I LOVE what I do. LOVE IT!! I love everything about movies. I mean, what's not to like? Life is a picture in motion. Life= motion pictures. And that's exactly what my life is, motion pictures! What do I do? I WORK IN THE MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY!!! Scream it out loud, it feel goooood!! :D

Okay...and televsion :) Can't forget TV! Television is great too. It's just easier to say motion pictures. But I am extremely passionate about television as well. And have tons of respect for both it, and the people involved in television!!

Following your dreams is so worth it. SO worth it!! And although it gets really tough at times, to the point of being painful... NEVER GIVE UP!!! The best is yet to come. And even though it will not come easy, don't throw in the towel just yet.... you may just get your big break tomorrow!! But really, do good things come easily at all?? No! You have to work hard for it, and be passionate! Be passionate about everything you do and give everything your all. Not 50%, 75%, or even 100%.... 150%! Stand out from the crowd. Be Brave. DARE TO FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!

It's as simple as that. The man that I truly look up to, Walt Disney, said, "All our Dreams come true if we have the courage to pursue them." And look at all that he did. He pursued his dreams!! That's not to say that he didn't hit roadblocks along the way. Did you know that he was fired from a newspaper printing company? They claimed that "he had no original ideas" and was "lacking imagination". HMMMM......

Just goes to show you, don't listen to a word those nay-sayers say!! Because you will prove them wrong. Every single time.

Winter wonderland!

Hey blogging peeps! :)

Well I've been in Utah for the holidays and what not, and woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. Everything is covered in SNOW!! It looks something like this snowy picture. Well, minus the castle. But a girl can dream, can't she? :)
I really don't like it. It's freezing, and hard to drive in. I can't wait til I go back to California next month!! Where it's sunny and I can go to the beach!!

Okay, yes. It is beautiful. But only for a few moments. Until you have to drive in it, and walk in it... and it totally freezes your toes off!! Yeah... snow an I... we don't have the best relationship ;)

And besides that, I am so cold blooded! I get f-r-e-e-e-zing!! That's another reason why I belong in sunny California. Ugh can't wait to get back! Of crouse, then I have traffic and really horrible parking to deal with. But hey... guess nowhere is perfect! ;)

On the plus side, this wintery storm is kind of motivating for me. It makes me just want to curl up and work on my new screenplays! Perfect weather for writing! :)

Well, gotta go, got lots of writing to do! :) Here's a quote for today...

Hello fellow bloggers!!

I don't blame you if you don't remember me, it has only been a few months, right?! :P Okay, who am I kidding... it's pretty much been half a year. YIKES!! Half a year since my last blog entry?!!

I'm sure you're thinking, "Okay, What in the world has Savvy been up to? Is she just too busy to just take 10 minutes and update her firkin' blog???"

Well.... my answer is... Yes and no! I have been extremely busy, which is a very, very good thing!! But the truth is, I could have written in my blog. But when I get home at night, sometimes I am just too tired to write, ya know? I know it's not a very good excuse. But hey, atleast I tried. ;)
Now, WHAT have I been up to the rest of 2010??? Well, allow me to fill you in... RIGHT NOW!
Here is the Reader's Digest version of what has been going on in the life of this crazy, determined dreamer! Ready? Here goes...

Acting Boot camp in Los Angeles (July)
Got representation with Diverse Talent Group in LA (September)
Went to Disneyland!! (September, and yes I had to include this ;)
Filmed a very fun horror movie, "BloodFare", I played Summer!! (October)
More Twice The Dream! (October- November)
Filmed a fun short called "The Hook Up" (November)
Disneyland again!! :D (December)
Wrote, produced, and acted in a short Christmas PSA (December)

And last but definitely not least, my latest project, a feature titled Twice The Dream. I know I mentioned a little about the project on here before, but now let me recap and fill you in on some exciting stuff!! So, the movie is a family "dramady". I wrote it and of course, naturally had to write myself in as one of the lead characters! :) It was co-written by my agent here in Salt Lake City, Shawn Mehling. He really shaped it up!

Really exciting things have been happening with the project, more than I ever could have hoped for!! The script got into Haylie Duff's hands, and she just happened to LOVE the script!! So she has attached herself to the project. She will be playing the role of "Amber". You wanna know what the most AWESOME part of this is though??! I had Haylie in my mind for the part of Amber ever since I started writing the script, when I was 15!! And Amber just happens to be Samantha's sister. And guess who just so happens to play Samantha in the movie?? :) I am SO excited, it is incredible and such an honor to have Haylie aboard!! I can hardly believe that she will play my sister. In this story that I have had in my heart ever since I was 15!! It's really strange how things come along. And anybody who really knows me, you know how I have always been a HUGE Hilary and Haylie Duff fan. Ever since the Lizzie McGuire days!! Life is weird!

And along with Haylie and I,we have also cast Adrian R'Mante(Suite Life Of Zack and Cody)and a wonderful actress named Raney Branch as supporting roles. But something I am really happy and excited about is our director, Maurice Moore. He took interest in the project and we signed him as the director. He is awesome!! You can check out his site here!! Been a Loooong time coming!!

First off, I can't believe I haven't updated my blog for so long-- ah I am slacking! But! I have had a good excuse! Well... so I hope. ;)

Second off, updates! Last time I wrote in my blog, I was in Hollywood. I was only there temporarily, to work and had some meetings/workshops. Now I am back home, but I joined SAG, YES!! (for those of you who don't know what SAG is, it is the professional actors union, Screen Actors Guild ) In fact, it is the largest and most respected actors union... most likely, everyone you see in the movies or on television is a member of SAG. Do you know what this means??? I am in the same union as Reese Witherspoon now!!! I am in GREAT company!

Okay maybe it's not that big of a deal... but I feel like it is a MAJOR stepping stone in my career, and about 10 steps closer to working with Reese!!!! :)

Another piece of news... Did I ever mention that I wrote a screenplay? Well, I did-and my agent helped rewrite and polish it. The script is called "Twice The Dream". And believe it or not... this story has been in my heart ever since the 9th grade. I first started writing it as a novel. I remember writing away, pouring my heart out on paper in math class still... this story has come a long way.

Not only did my agent and I finish the script, and go through about 100 rewrites, we are getting it produced!!! I can't be any more happy!! Especially, since I wrote myself as one of the lead characters... (well, naturally! I had to! :) I am so jazzed!! We are 70% there!!!! Things are going great!!

Once upon a time,

In a small mountain town in Utah, lived a girl named Savannah with big dreams. She loved the movies. She would dream of the movies by day, by night, and everything in between. Her dreams and wishes of being in the movies filled her heart so much, and eventally led her out of the small town in Utah... to follow her dreams.

Savannah set off on a wonderful journey, to a far-away place called Hollywood, where movies are made, dreams come true, and everything can happen. She rode her white stallion for 750 miles, and 10 hours and 7 Diet Cokes later, she reached the magical kingdom of Hollywood. Now, she has arrived.. and anything can happen! .............

When following your dream, there are a few very key aspects in your likelihood to succeed. I've been thinking about this a lot lately...

What is the #1 thing??

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!!

Always remember this! Because if you don't believe in yourself... who will? But if you do believe in yourself, then everyone else will too! So never underestimate the importance of self-confidence!

Of course, when you are on the path of following your dreams, there will always be the few people who try to bring you down. I call them, "The doubters" . NEVERMIND what they say!! It is because YOU have the courage to pursue your dreams, and they don't. And since they don't, they will try to tell you that you can't fulfill your dreams either. Who are they to tell you that??

LET'S PROVE THEM WRONG!! WE CAN DO IT! ALWAYS BELIEVE IN YOURSELF, NO MATTER HOW TOUGH IT CAN BE SOMETIMES. IT WILL PAY OFF... IN THE END!! SHOW THEM THE "LION" YOU CAN BE... AND ROAR! ;)

It's been a while. I have had a crazy week going to Sundance and enjoying the festival and its festivities. But, no excuse not to blog, right? ;)
Anyway, I've been thinking... are dreams really that powerful? What can come from dreams? Hmm....
So I've been thinking some more and came up with this conclusion...

Everything that ever was or ever will be all started with a dream!

Is that not true? Think about it!
So if you ask me, are dreams powerful? Absolutely! Can they change the world? Depends on the dream. Can they change your life? Yes!

We all know how much I love Reese Witherspoon, the color pink, and chihuahuas. So, naturally, my favorite movie is Legally Blonde!

I'm sure it comes to a shock to some of you! ;)

I was just thinking about the scene where Elle applies to Harvard. The woman bluntly asks her, "Harvard... What are your back-ups?"

Guess what Elle says? "I don't need back-ups. I'm going to Harvard." Elle replies with confidence and a smile.

Well, Elle was one smart cookie. She knew what she wanted, and despite all odds and stereotypes, she went out and got it!

And that's what I am going to do! I don't need a back-up plan. I am going to work in the movies. And eventually, act alongside Reese in a movie! :)

Then again, why does there even have to be a limit at all? I change my mind... The limit is BEYOND the sky, because there ARE NO LIMITS!!

Of course there are no limits! How else can you explain the great works of people such as Albert Einstein, Walt Disney, Pablo Picasso, Beethoven, Thomas Edison, William Shakespeare, Winston Churchill, Leonardo Da Vinci, etc.??

They all had one thing in common... They had no limits, because they didn't give themselves any!!

So.. GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO THINK BIG!

That's your motivator for today. I know I am going to not live by any limits, and NEVER limit my dreams! What about you?? :)

New Years Resolutions!

Well, here it is... 2010!!!

Can you even believe it?? What are your resloutions? I want to hear! I suppose mine are pretty easy to guess. But... I will share them with you anyway. I have a few, some are vague, but others are more specific!

#1...(Specific) I am going to finish the rewrites of my script and finally get it produced !! (A lot lof you probably don't know that I'm a writer too... well, surprise I guess! haha.)

#2...(Vague) Work, work, work, Get as many actin jobs as possible. And big ones!! (Reach for the stars... might as well! :)

And of course....

Land a speaking role in a movie with Reese Witherspoon!! Why can't 2010 be the year, right???

There you have it, my resolutions!! And I say... they are definitely within reach. Because really, the only limits we have on our dreams are the limis that we create. This year... NO LIMITS!!

What do y'all think? And I want to hear your resolutions too!! It seems all of my resolutions are work related... but I can't help it. That's what makes me happy right now! :)

Well, there you have it. That's what I am going to do!! The moment that I decided that I was going to be an actress, there was no turning back for me. No stopping, no quitting, no "It's too difficut", no giving up!!

2010 is quickly approaching... and I feel like it will be my very best year yet! And according to Reese Witherspoon herself... with the right coaching and determination, you can accomplish anything. So certainly, my dream of being in a movie with Reese is very reachable!!

Some people say, "Why acting?" Here is my response...

Life is a picture in motion. So naturally, motion pictures are one of the most authentic portrayals of life. I want to be right in the heart of motion pictures. I want to be in the dead center of Tinseltown.

I remember what movie made me really want to be an actress.... the movie that triggered the dream within me!! I was so moved by the actresses' performance, and she made it seem like so much fun. She brought so much personality, humor, intelligence,and truth to the role. Guess what movie this was???

LEGALLY BLONDE, OF COURSE!

And that's why acting is it for me. And that is why my ultimate dream is to be in a movie with Reese Witherspoon!!

As Elle Woods said, "You can do it your way... but I'm going to do it the Elle Woods way."

Well it is up to me to do it the Savannah Ostler way!!!

The Pursuit of the dream...

Quick update, since it has been a while! I feel inspired tonight. And we all know that inspiration comes from within! Since it comes from within... no one can take it away. Just like our dreams.
Somebody asked me the other day what I do for a living. The scene went something like this...

EXT. CAFE- DAY
SAVANNAH sits at a table alone, drinking Diet Coke and reading the book "Acting From A Spiritual Perspective." MR. DOUBTFUL enters, and spots Savannah. He immediately approaches her.

MR. DOUBTFUL
Savannah! It has been forever!

Savannah looks up from her reading material, and recognizes him.

SAVANNAH

Wow, yes, since High school! How have you been?

MR. DOUBTFUL

Wonderful! I am going to school, and working part-time. What have you been up to? Are you going to school?

SAVANNAH

No, I am not.

MR. DOUBTFUL

Oh? What are you doing then? You work?

SAVANNAH

I am an actress and screenwriter.

MR. DOUBTFUL

Wow! Still acting? You must be making a lot of money now huh?

SAVANNAH

Well... no. Not yet! I am in the pursuit. I am just following

my dream.

Mr. Doubtful's voice of enthusiasm immediately dropped. He speaks very clearly and serious now.

MR. DOUBTFUL

Ah, okay I see. Well, what is your back up plan? Because

what if... you?

SAVANNAH

(sincere)

I don't need a back up plan. I am going to be an actress.

MR. DOUBTFUL

(skeptical)

Everybody needs a back up plan Savannah... I mean, how many

actors actually... make it in this world?

SAVANNAH

Well I don't! This is what I love to do. And there

is no reason why a girl can't do what she loves to do.

MR. DOUBTFUL

Yep, I experience encounters like this all the time. But, luckily I have gotten a lot tougher over the years. And trust me, when your life is spent with people saying "No, thank-you" all the time, it definitely takes effort to stay positive. But, staying positive is one of the most important aspects in one's likelihood to succeed in this business! So, I must keep my head held up high, and know that someday, one glorious, happy, wonderful day my dreams will come true, and I will live the reality of my dreams. And it will only be a result of my dedication, positivity, and raw determination that will make my dream come true!!

It has been a while since I have blogged and updated!!!

But, I have a valid excuse!! I have been filming a television show... it is so exciting and awesome!! I can't say anything about it yet, other than it was such a sweet experience, and it will air on TLC in a few months!! Can you say.... YA-HOO!!!!!

Naturally, now that the show is over, I am on the prowl for a chance to work on another set!! What will be next? It is a mystery to me, but stay tuned!! A day could change everything. A day can change your life!!

Carol Burnett said, "When you have a dream, you've got to grab it and never let go." I really love this quote, and agree with it 100%!! If you are given a dream, stick with it, and don't let ANYONE tell you otherwise! No one can take it away from you!! It is not about who is going to let you, it is who is going to stop you!

Hey all you bloggers out there,

So, updates! It looks like I got 1 out of the 3 parts. But that is still awesome! I got cast in Ritual Pictures' "The Light of Daigh". I play Daigh!! :D

We actually begin filming the teaser trailer this weekend! For more information, check out the website!! http://www.ritualpictures.com/tldcast1.htm

It looks like a very cool project and I am very excited to dive into it! The part of Daigh is a role unlike any other that I have ever had before, so it should be an interesting experience!

REACH FOR THE STARS!!!

Hey all you bloggers out there,
Here's a quick update for you... so remember when I went on those 3 auditions last Saturday? Well...
I heard back from one and I booked the lead role!! YAY!! It is extremely exciting. I can't say much about it yet, but I can tell you that we are filming the teaser trailer first, followed by the feature. It is wonderful news!! I was doing the happy dance when I found out. :)
I will make sure to keep you updated on the project! And still crossing my fingers that I hear from 1 of the other 2 auditions... I say, let's shoot for 2 out of 3! Aim for the stars!!! :)

Almost to the finish line!!!....

Hey all you bloggers out there,
I had the most amazing day yesterday! Why was it so amazing, you ask? Well... :)
I had 3 film auditions... and 2 of them were callbacks! YAY!!! It was such a blast. I had to be 3 different people! The best part was having to change my outift and makeup for the next audition in time. It was very exciting!!! I just wonder what the people thought of me at the gas stations; I was completely different going into the bathroom than I was coming out! It was like I was a totally different person. Haha that was the fun of it! :) I'm sure they thought I was psychotic, but that's kinda funny to think actually. Let them think that! Atleast I'm not boring... :D I'm sure Reese could totally relate. She has to have some crazy and funny stories!
Wish me luck!! I will keep you updated as soon as I hear about any of them! I have a feeling... that I am closer to the finish line than I think!!

"The tiny frogs!"

Hey all you bloggers out there,

Thought I would share a really cool story that I heard the other day. It is callled....

"The Tiny Frogs"

There once was a bunch of tiny frogs who arranged a running competition.

The goal was to reach the top of a very high tower.

A big crowd had gathered around for the event, to cheer on the contestants....

1...2.... 3.... GO!!!..

The race began.....

Honestly:

No one in the crowd really believed that the tiny frogs would reach the top of the tower.

You heard statements such as:

"Oh, way too difficult! They will NEVER make it to the top."

Or:

"Not a chance they will succeed. The tower is too high!

One by one, the tiny frogs began collasping....

....Except those who in a fresh attempt were climbing higher and higher....

The crowd continued to yell:

"It's too difficult! No one will make it!"

More tiny frogs got tired and gave up....

But ONE continued higher and higher and higher....

This one wouldn't give up!

At the end, everyone else had given up climbing the tower....

...Except for the one tiny frog who after a big effort was the only one that reached the top!

THEN, all of the other frogs naturally wanted to know... how this one tiny frog managed to do this?

A contestant asked the tiny frog how he had found the strength to reach the goal?

It turned out....

THE WINNER WAS DEAF!!!

The wisdom in this story is:

NEVER listen to other people's tendencies to be negative or pessimistic...

...Cause they take your most wonderful dreams and wishes away from you;

The ones you have in your heart!

Always think of the power words have.

Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions!

Therefore... Always be...

POSITIVE!

And above all:

Be DEAF when people tell you that you cannot fulfill your dreams!

Always think:

I CAN DO THIS!!

Tonight, I am going to answer the age old quesiton... Why do you want to act?
There are many reasons for my crazy endeavors... so here goes!

I act because I am an explorer.
I act because I love to take risks.
I act because I am fascinated by humanity.
I act to get away from it all.
I act because I love effecting people.
I act because I am a creator; I love to create.
I act so I can re-live moments in my life; and to re-evaluate my past.
I act to feel things that I have never felt before.
I act because.... it makes me free.

No other profession or artistic endeavor can allow myself to be two people at once...

Movies have an overwhelming effect on their audiences. I want to be the reason for it!

NEVER GIVE UP!!!!

Well, I promised I would let you all know if I got a callback... and.... are you ready?

I didn't. :( True, it is rather disappointing. BUT! This is only a set back if I let it be one. And am I going to do that? Hm, let me think... NO!!! I must stay strong and hold on! And I'm not saying that it is easy. I know from experience that there will always be disappointments. Being in this business, you have to get familiar with rejection. But I do know in my heart of hearts that no matter what the odds or the cicrumstances, perseverance always wins. ALWAYS. No expceptions!!

So.. I am holding on! I am holding on and fighting. And I will continue to fight until I WIN!!!

Just going to keep fighting and fighting... and never, never, never, NEVER give up... no matter what!

Audition... hoping for a callback!

Hello out there!

I just recently filmed a movie called "I Live At The House With The Blue Door", and I had such a blast on set! I play a very flirtacious, provocative waitress. She was an absolute blast to portray, because she is so far from who I really am! Well, most of the time... hee hee ;)

That's the beauty of acting. I can experience all sorts of new things, be put in unfamiliar situations, and feel things that I normally would never have a chance to! And the adrenaline rush I get from being on set is just the icing on top of the cake! When I was filming, I kept thinking to myself, "Wow- there is nowhere I would rather be. This is where I belong!"

So, here I am... anxiously awaiting my next days on a film set! Just like love, I am aching for my next fix. I feel this very strong, burning desire to experience it all over again. This desire is almost chilling, and runs deep in my bones. Hmm... looks like the beginning of a very delectable love affiar! :)

I will share with you some pictures of me enjoying my time on set! I hope you like them :) I just can hardly believe the natural high I get from being on set. I can only imagine what it will be like when I am on set with Reese! I cannot wait!!

The beginning of a big dream...

Hello!
My name is Savannah Ostler, and I was born with a really big dream... A dream that some would say is nearly impossible. But what really is 'impossible'? It surely is not a word in my vocabulary.
Ever since I was a wee child, I have had this burning desire to be an actress. At first I thought to myself, "Hmmm... this is probably just a phase, it will pass..." So I gave it some time. Did I really love performing and the movies so much, that I would be willing to risk all of my life's savings, my well-being, my sanity, and my relationships on the chance of fulfilling this dream? Well, I have asked this same question to myself time and time again, and the outcome is still the same.

YES!!!

What can I do now? I have no choice! I am going to do it, and I am never going to give up until I do! So, I have decided to give myself a goal. Starting today, August 16th 2009, I am going to give myself 3 years to achieve my ultimate dream. And what, you might ask, is this ultimate dream?

My ultimate dream is to have a speaking role in a film with my favorite actress, Reese Witherspoon!

I am going to give it my all, and see to it that this will happen! Each week, I will monitor my progress and make a post! As of now, I am a girl from Utah trying to make it happen. But who knows? Tomorrow, I just might be the girl you see on the big screen!
